Rash with Evorel
« on: October 14, 2018, 09:31:39 AM »

Just a quick  question  ladies.  Does anyone who has had  a skin allergy to the evorel patches find that the rash spreads to other parts like the side of the  thigh or top of leg.   I'm  just trying to work out if my skin rash is down to the oestrogen, the progestin or the adhesive in  the  patch itself. Many thanks

My rash was only under the patch. The first time I left it on and the spots became holes in the skin. The second time I took it off immediately and went back to the GP. I am now on oestrogel which hasn't caused any skin problems.

Thanks for the reply sheila99.   I only connected the rash with the patch because  the rash looks the same as the rash I initially got at the patch site.

I had thought it was the progestogen as it appeared when I was on the conti patch but that could just be a coincidence.  I'm  now on evorel 50 patch and Provera tablet (which I haven't started  yet)and the rash is still there, hence  my thoughts that it could  be the adhesive  from the patch. I'm  hoping  it isn't the oestrogen I'm  allergic to as I've  started to get flushes and night sweats again  so may need to up my dose.

My GP practice doesn't  prescribe oestrogel, only Sandrena, so I may give that a try or I think I could get the oestrogel, if Sandrena didn't suit, if I was referred to  the  menopause clinic.

Nothing is straight forward with this menopause journey is it!

GP thought it was the adhesive. I only got oestrogel because the meno 'specialist' was on leave & the one I saw knew nothing about HRT so prescribed what I asked for. You'll may well be OK with Sandrena, it's certainly worth tryng.
