HRT and holidays

Hi, I'm on 1mg of Elleste Duo and due to go on holiday the end of October. I'm still having monthly periods and will be due on whilst on holiday which I don't want! Does anyone know how you can adapt the HRT to delay it? Or do I need to speak to the doctor?

There have been various threads on this fairly recently so go to the home page of the forum and do a search. If your natural cycle is strong then you may well get a period anyway. Continuing with the conti tabs may delay the bleed but not if your cycle is strong. It also partly depends how far along the menopausal journey you were before starting HRT ie if not very far then more difficult. If your periods were few and far between ( occasional) then more likely that swappping the tabs about might do the trick. Your doc might prescribe norethisterone if you really want to delay it - but not sure whether they would consider holidays a valid reason?
