HRT patches and nausea

Anyone experience intense nausea when applying a new patch?

Hi there - I have never experienced nausea with HRT and not sure I even notice when I apply a new patch! If you are peri-menopausal then there may well be a temporary surge of oestrogen when you first apply it (ie the hRT adds to your own - and depending whether your cycle is still strong) and high oestrogen can cause nausea as in pregnancy. It's nothing to worry about if it only happens just after you apply a patch and then disappears and you feel fine the rest of the half week until you apply the next one. Persistent nausea should be checked by the doc (ie unrelated to patch).
