Continuous HRT
« on: September 07, 2018, 09:17:16 AM »

I'm 53, been on elleste duet for 3 years. I had night sweats for years before that and other aches etc that were menopausal because they stopped when I started  HRT. Before starting on HRT fsh level was 75. Anyway I'm fed up with the bleeding and PMT  feelings in the few days before. My GP said I could go on continuous HRT  at 53 because that's the average age of menopause. I said I was worried about womb thickening etc if I wasn't fully in menopause. She said if it got too thick I'd bleed anyway.  Do you think it would be ok to go on continuous or wait another few years or stop to see if I am menopausal?  Advice please 🤔

If the womb lining thickening is worrying you, you could get scan done every now and then.  My local baby ultrasound clinic does this for £80 (compared to £200-300 in a private hospital).  Or you could consider just going for 3 months and then take the progesterone for a bleed.
