Catch up / weight loss
« on: August 13, 2018, 09:25:05 AM »

Morning M&Ms.  Haven't posted for a bit so thought I'd check in and say hi.  7 months on HRT and thankfully, it's still going well for me,  which may give some hope to anyone who was feeling like I was at the beginning of this year - that life was pretty much over.  Don't give up on trying to find an effective treatment for your symptoms.  Don't believe anyone who tells you "it's all in your head"; it's NOT! It's hormonal and things can get better!

Just as an aside, I've now lost 10lbs in weight - something else that had eluded me in peri.  I've been doing quite a bit of reading up on hormones and am starting to understand how once one gets out of whack it can upset the whole balance  :(

Hi Tiddles, so pleased you've sussed it and are feeling so great.  There's a light at the end of the tunnel !  I have put on about half a stone in the last 5 weeks since being on Progyova and have felt pretty ghastly on it.  I am hoping eventually I will feel good and lose the weight again.  Thanks for your positivity!  For some of us it takes quite a lot longer....and it seems never-ending trying to get the balance right.  Onwards!  :)

Hi Tiddles

Yeah, I had a bad time the beginning of the year, and have now been on
Femoston Conti since February.
Alls well, except I find I'm having to tweek the tablets every so often because
symptoms are returning. So I'm booking in with doc to get some extra oestrogen.
BUT, overall, I would say I'm much, much better than I was. So that's great.
Just got to ‘polish' up to make it ‘perfect'. If you know what I mean..

Since I stopped the patches, and went onto tablets, I've lost about 6lds,
My weight was going up and up on them, and that was enough to make me depressed.
The thought of having to buy a whole new wardrobe was very troublesome.
And, I'd never put weight on like that before in my life, it wasn't a hefty amount,
Just probably about 1/2stone, but it made me freak. God knows what the amount
would have been if I'd stayed on them.
Luckily, I had to come off them due to migraines.
So I'm glad I found the tablets.

Glad your feeling better too, it does take a lot of work, and persavailence,
and I'm glad we're two of the lucky ones. Hopefully every woman will find
their right balance too.

Keep fighting ladies, never give up, there is light at end of tunnel....

Take care
