changing from evorel to estradot 100
« on: August 06, 2018, 09:12:49 AM »

I have been to the GP this morning & she is changing my Evorel 100mg to Estradot 100mg as I was having problems with them sticking.

She said I change it every 24hrs is this correct?

Feeling like rubbish at the moment, banging head, nausea & flushes, that might be because my patches were just sweating off in the heat, I wish someone had that magic wand right now  :(

Hi there Dee,
Ive never heard of estradot 100mg ?? Do you mean 100mcg ?
I use the 50 mcg patch and change it twice a week thurs monrning/ sunday night.
I think you should get your gp to check this, as I dont think patches are changed daily.
Hope this info is helpful.

Thanks Sammas this change is so awful, if only I knew it would be this bad, I feel like crawling under a rock & dying at times, going on holiday on Thursday & just cannot be bothered with it all  :(

Traceylr sorry did mean 100mcg, amazing how when you cannot cope even the smallest things we can get wrong  :'(, I have read online the instructions & it is apparently twice a week just like Evorel are, just goes to show the GP doesnt know anything about them, if it wasnt for this forum I am not sure where I would go for help.

Are the Estradot for post meno women? As I am in peri

Thanks for your help

The patches you mention are for peri as I've used them before myself.

I also could sweat them off when it wasn't even hot.

Yes you take change them 2 a week.

Thanks MIS71MUM for confirming they are for peri too,  I have thought about going back to gel but going to give the estradot a try, like you I have tried several types of HRT & feel like I take 1 step forward & 2 steps back.
Just goes to show GP thought I changed them daily & it is a woman GP, I have no faith in them, thank god for this forum  :)

This is scary Dee46 - I mean all she has to do is read the patient information leaflet - it's not even specialist knowledge!! I love Estradot - have been using them for almost all the time I've been on HRT which is 11.5 years now.... All I do is make sure I give them a feel and stick down with my fingers whenever I go to the loo just to make sure they are well stuck, and I use my butt cheeks trying to avoid the knicker line or the tight (low) waistband of jeans/shorts etc. I change mine every approx 3.5 days so Friday morning and Monday evening. Good luck :)

It is scary Hurdity, she even asked me how to spell Estradot, just goes to show that women have no hope when going to the GP at this time of their lives. I am hoping these will be the one for me, was just reading another post by MIS71MUM & I think where I have been so inconstant with them not sticking & not reapplying straight away my hormones have gone wacky. Thanks for the advise on sticking, I put mine on my butt checks or upper thigh now but Evorel are so big, I do keep a check on it being stuck down to when going to the loo, it just seems to be in the evenings lately that they have been just sweating off me. Good advise to do it 3.5 days, as I was doing mine 3 days then a full 4 days, maybe that is also where I had gone wrong. Thank you  :)
