One week in on Estrogel and ustrogen 100mg
« on: June 17, 2018, 05:29:18 PM »

Well one week in and not feeling the best. Anxiety levels are raised. I'm feeling tired and nauseous.

I'm assuming this is my body adjusting from the Femseven Conti patches.

Do I continue . I'm forgetting what normal feels like

It will take a while to get into your system.

My doctor said to increase the Estrogel to 4 pumps if necessary. How do you know if you need to increase?

Also I'm in pain under my arm pit might not be related

I sound like a hypochondriac

If your symptoms are not improving then you should increase but you need to do it gradually. If no change after about 4 weeks then try 3 pumps.

I'm feeling so horrible. My anxiety levels are sky high.

Could it be my body adjusting. I just want to sit and cry. I've also got a dicky tummy.

It could be that these are the menopausal symptoms breaking through as your body gets used to the Oestrogel. Try and stick with it. X

Thankyou. I'm determined to get better.

So hoping it's my body adjusting from taking off the patches and starting this new routine.

Does anybody else take Ustrogen every day

Hi Burchers - yes you have changed two things at once so it is impossible to know why you are feeling as you do. As Dotty says it will take a while for your body to acclimatise from changing fron patch to gel - my body didn't acclimatise after 5 weeks ( so I went back to patches but also because the gel I was using - Sandrena  - took too long to dry!), but also as Stellajane syas you may be reacting to the daily utrogestan (but I can't remember why you are changing?).

The nausea could be due to much high levels of oestrogen (some women do achieve these from 2 pumps of gel compared to 50 mcg patch) and the tiredness to the the progesterone.

Yes give it a while!

Tiredness (exhaustion in my case) and horrific nausea were caused by low oestrogen in my case and were only remedied by 4 pumps of Oestrogel and daily Utrogestan.

Just goes to show that we are all different and it's so hard to work out what's causing all the problems.

I really appreciate you all taking the time to reply.
I stopped the Femseven Conti as my body was starting to ache on them. They were also irritating my skin

The way I'm feeling at the minute I feel like just going back on them.

I agree with your last comment Stellajane - there are so many different preparations out there and continuous progestogens really do not suit some women and not even doctors seem to be aware of this.

One is supposed to try a particualr HRT regime for 3 months to see if it settles, but if you are feeling really bad then I can see this can be tricky. Another cause of the nuasea could be the utrogestan is taken orally, daily - that is a known sdie effect - but again it could settle once your body has acclimatised.

Can you bear to give it another couple of weeks or so and see if there is sufficient improvement for you to try for 2-3 months?

I'm on the progesterone daily due to not having a period since 2016.
My periods stopped and all my problems started after I had an ablation done.

I'm seeing my doctor on the 5th July.

I just want to stop feeling anxious, grumpy, achy , exhausted and sexually dead

By that time you will begin to have some idea if it's going to work at all - so try to bear with it if you can! By that time if you are still feeling exhausted then - as has been pointed out on this thread,  the daily progesterone would be the first thing I would alter. Then see how you felt on a cycle (ie on oestrogen only compared to oestrogen and prog together), and then tweak the oestrogen dose if necessary.
