.....until I see my menopause consultant next Friday. I've currently slapped on a 25mcg estradot which was left over from 'before' but I am absolutely certain I won't get any relief from it.

Hoping to get gel - can you lovely girls tell me where you've had the best luck at sourcing actual Estrogel please? I did ok on it until I switched over to Oestrodose many moons ago now and then I flipped my gourd as my levels plummeted on it. And it gave me a rash. At least I now feel vindicated reading so many of your tales of woe with Oestrodose that i'm not a nutter! xxxx

Tempest, a friend of mine in Scotland is having an oestrogen implant and has Oestrogel left over which she obtained on private prescription I think.   Send me a PM if you would like more details.

Hi Tempest

You have to ask your pharmacist to work a little harder for you. Make sure they specifically ask for "The UK Pump Pack of Oestrogel" and NOT the "parallel import pump pack" (which is the cheap and nasty Oestrodose).

As a last resort you can ask your consultant for a private prescription and then contact The Welbeck Pharmacy in London (who supply most of the private clinics on Harley Street). They will happily fulfil your script and will post Oestrogel out to you, next day. But they can only fulfil private prescriptions. A 3 month supply of Oestrogel only cost me roughly £50 and I use 4 pumps a day.

Hi Tempest

My scrip now says Oestrogel Pump-Pack 0.06% gel (Besins Health care (uk) Ltd)
(Oestrogel version not Oestrogel version please)

Although there have been a couple  occasions over the years (usually new pharmacists to the chemist I use) when they have tried to give me Oestrodose with the usual it's exactly the same I just refuse to take it and refer them back to the wording on the script I always get what I want and they know in the chemist in fact DH went with the prescription the last time and an empty box and they said they knew which one was the they had to dispense and he didn't need to bring the empty box anymore    it does help that a friend works in there.

Tempest I personally saw the pharmacist and explained what one I needed, they're great and since I spoke to him he's never got it wrong, plus I did say to gp to stipulate on my repeats that it must be oestrogel xx

Thank you too, Lanzalover and Daisydot! I refuse to accept the Oestrodose. I was sure a couple of years ago that it was the cause of my rash and dose instability when I switched from Estrogel as I said, and now with others sharing their experiences I am sure that I was right. xxxx

A good point for those it suits, Stellajane! I know personally I got the rash after switching, but everyone has to trial to see what suits them best. xxxx
