Testosterone 2% gel
« on: June 04, 2018, 09:24:03 PM »

Hi ladies can I ask if you put your gel on at the same time as your oesrtogel. I do the oesrtogel in the mornings after my shower and I was thinking of putting the testosterone gel on at night but remembered some one said to be careful of night time transference to partner, what would you recommend I do I'm ready to start using it now, many thanks xx

I was advised (although I never actually got past 'first base' with estrogen so didn't get to the testosterone part - har de har), that dosing should be in the morning as this replicates the natural pattern of T rising in the morning and setting at night.

Hope you get on well with the T, Daisydot - is this your first time trying it out? xxxx

Hi tempest thank you yes it is I've been seeing mr parsons at Nuffield and he's a great support,I have the most he put me in oesrtogel and vagifem for around 5 months now and then said last week now we can introduce testosterone as your levels will have built up.
I've been feeling so much better but not quite there if you get me.I do feel as if this is my missing part so I'm hoping I'm right I've never read so much in my life lol,I'm really enjoying that book you recommended too so thank you again I saw the reviews saying it was too complex and technical but I don't find that at all and I've no in depth knowledge.I found it so interesting and enjoy it and god does she talk a lot of sense.xx

Hi Daisydot I think I read on here that testosterone transference to a male partner is not too much of a problem. It's the Oestrogel transference that's a problem.

I use Oestrogel (4 pumps) and Tostran in the morning. I squirt the Tostran onto my inner arm and then rub in with the other inner arm. It's quite runny and dries very quickly . 😄

Daisydot - rub it into your arms as I do. It's dry in about 2 mins.

Oh wow, Daisydot! So glad you loved the book - I didn't find it technical at all either! It's all in there, isn't it? I also find her theories about Fibromyalgia really interesting (I don't have Fibro) in that it effects mainly women AND the symptoms are pretty much identical to estrogen deficiency/imbalance. Food for thought!

I really hope the T is your missing link, too! And I've said it before - I like the sound of Mr Parsons! Shame we can't clone him......😊😊😊 xxxx

That wouldn't surprise me at all Tempest she's a very clever lady, all those years they said I had  P.N.D and M.E,well some did some said it was in my head and gave me E.C.T for my pnd which was horrific I now question the validity of it all.If i could lock them up in a room and zap their brains I bloody would in a heartbeat lol.
I was so young and so hormonal,I'm going back 30 years now and even I knew then it was hormonal I could chart it all but no one would listen, who was I,young mother from the back streets,I despise their arrogance I really do.My Mr Parsons is a gem he's so gentle and laid back and has backed me to the hilt with these crappy gps I have, god are they hard work. He,ll  push to get bloods or tests or meds on nhs but obviously until his report goes back to gp you have to wait,if you want he'll give you a private prescription to tide you over,it just depends if you want to pay for quicker access to his prescription recommendations.
I hope all those tests come back with good news for you, your a very brave lady xx

Wow - Daisydot, YOU are a remarkable lady! I can't believe what you've been through (actually I can - as I was branded a nutter too after my oopherectomy, no HRT and before my MS diagnosis). It is absolutely bloody horrific!!

I spent time in a psych. ward during all this, and one thing that stood out was that there were two distinct groups presenting in the wards for the first time. Teenaged girls, and women in their 40's. I mean um, HELLO!!!!  Is nobody seeing a pattern here? (Apart from Prof. Studd who has extensively written about this). I know he wanted a dialogue with the Royal College Of Psychiatrists but they have repeatedly slammed the door in his face.

After my dealings, I am beginning to think that psychiatry is pretty sinister and biased against women. We haven't really moved on from the victorian perception of 'the mad woman in the attic'. (Don't mean to offend anyone who  feels they have been or are being helped by psychiatry - this is just my opinion and experience).

Your kind words mean a lot, Daisydot - thank you! I'm so very glad given your past horrendous experiences that you are in caring, capable hands now and are being helped.  xxxx

Isn't this forum a life saver literally tempest,I do wish they had a doctor or specialist run question and answer thread though,it would be such a help to our most anxious ladies in conjunction with our peer advice from our regular ladies who do this out the goodness of their hearts, wouldn't it be lovely if some of these “specialists” set a bit of time aside like we all do in our busy lives and give something back to the female community that's helped them get where they are now.So if your reading this docs and consultants get that thread started our ladies and our next generation of young adults need your expertise and help,I don't think you realise the impact it would have.xx

Morning ladies.well I put my first dose on yesterday and I don't know if it's coincidence or was I so zeroed out of testosterone but my breast pain just eased off so quickly and they don't seem so hard this morning there's definately a massive difference in them, could it have changed that so quickly after months of this soreness and heaviness in them. The other thing was I've not been able to cry since I started hrt I don't know why but even though I felt sad sometimes I just couldn't shed the tears well yesterday that also changed for me,A friend of mines emailed me with such a sad story that I cried buckets then I cried again when my husband came home and I told him,can one little blob of gel have such a profound effect or is it all coincidence,I'm not gonna say in my head because I've had too many years of idiots telling me that and it annoys me.Has anyone else noticed any changes so quickly when they started testosterone.xx
