I sound like a nutter
« on: May 11, 2018, 10:49:56 AM »

I started on Testogel on Monday told to rub in pea size amount on alternate days.
I feel so wiped out and have waves of nausea. Is this normal?

I have Colitis and on Mitazapine 15mg and Beta Blockers 40mg 3 times a day.

I'm on Femseven Conti and have to do daily Estriol .

Do I stick with this Testogel?

My whole body feels knackered.

Doctor is lovely but thinks it's more the Mitazapine and Beta Blockers making me feel tired, weight gain,Water retention.

What evidence does the GP have?  How have your symptoms altered, what sent you to the GP?  Have you been taking the Mitazpine and BB for many years?

40mg BB 3 times a day is a lot.  My initial start dose was 80mg daily then dropped to 40mg for several years until I woke with background headaches.  18 months ago I dropped it to 20mg x 2 and now take 20mg.  Seems to suit me and I don't have the headaches.

I would be surprised if the testogel was causing you to feel like that.
How long have you been on mirtazipine? That can make you feel really tired.

I wouldn't be surprised by any kind of weird reaction - everybody told me that testosterone would make me feel much better. The fact is it doesn't - it makes me feel incredibly depressed and I've had to give up completely on it. If your other medications were well-established and causing no problems I'd blame the testosterone.

Agree with racjen, my experience with testosterone was not positive and I gave it a go for 6 months. I've know others who've had some odd reactions and experiences as well. The balance between the various hormones plays a role in all this (how well it works, side effects, etc)

You do have a lot going on, so it might be hard to tell what's causing the feelings you're having. Maybe give it a bit more time?  It's way too soon to know if it might yet work for you.

But literally just a couple of days of low dose testosterone? The only way to be sure that it's the testosterone that's to blame, is to stop it for a couple of weeks and try again, and see what happens.

That would be my suggestion.  Maybe keep a diary of how you feel?  Note: morning, mid-day and evening?
