Osterogen Pump/Gel Query
«

Hi all
Can anyone tell me whether the Osetrgoen Pump is more effective than the patches which did nothing for me, re sweating. I am unable to take the pill so thought this may be a good compromise.
Thank you

Yes I most definately found the gel better,I tended to get a dip a couple of days after putting a new patch on and I don't get this with the gel I seem to get a consistent dose,go ahead and try it but make sure you get the Oestrogel and not oestrodose at the chemist as the carriers are different and the oestrodose was not as effective for me,a lot of ladies say the same.good luck

I find Estrogel far better than the patches for controlling my symptoms.

Many thanks Daisydot and Tinkerbell. I asked at my doctor's last time but she didn't even answer this because we had so much to cover. Are there fewer risks with the gel than the pill, can I ask? Thanks.

Yes both the gel and the patch are transdermal so bypass the liver which reduces the risk of blood clots etc.

FoggyMoggy, it sounds like you have a similar problem to the one I had. I was on a similar patch to Evorel and I found them to be completely ineffectual and they didn't help my sweating problem at all, added to which, I really hated having to wear a patch on my backside. Oestrogel worked like magic and completely eradicated my sweating problem within days. I would definitely recommend Oestrogel over patches.

Thanks Mary G and Lanzalover
Mary G you've given me a lot of hope now
I will try and get the Oestrogel. Did you also have it prescribed with Progesterone tablets? I think most people do, I think, don't they? Many thanks

Hi FoggyMoggy
Yes I use the gel with a separate progesterone tablet.
I tried Utrogestan both orally and vaginaly but I just couldn't get on with it but there are many ladies on here who do use it. For me Provera suits me much better.

FoggyMoggy, I'm glad I've given you hope, it really was that impacting and I hope it will be the same for you. I was prescribed Oestrogel with Utrogestan like many others on here.
