Any advice ladies please.started new regime of oestrogel 2 pumps per day and urogestran 100mgs vaginally alternate night's as low intolerance to progesterone. Into 3rd week and started bleeding heavily, period pain...is this because progesterone levels not high enough?.. age 57,definitely post menopausal ,night and day sweats have been relieved thank goodness,. :

Bleeding is to be expected in first 6 months on Oestrogel. Could also because you are not taking the Utrogestan every day.

I'm afraid using Utrogestan only every other day won't be enough to stop the womb lining from building up. Why not go to a sequential regime and use Utrogestan for 10days each month and use the capsules vaginally to reduce side effects. You will give a monthly bleed but it reduces the use of progesterone.
