Femoston sequi advice
« on: March 20, 2018, 09:40:35 AM »

Hello ladies  :D
well after winning my battle by going private, was put on Femoston 1/10 to see how things went. however after 2 months was still spotting brown so went to Gp who read the letter from specialist and upped it to 2/10. My problem is when on 1/10 I felt so much better howeever now on the 2/10 getting weepy anxious night sweats are back and not sleeping well. Does this mean that the 2/10 is not good for me? or will this settle? I didnt have this issue at all on the 1/10 so not sure what to do cant see my specialist again till May and not really happy with Gp meddling as there ideas were useless before so why would that have changed.
Anyway any advice or insight is welcome.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure that upping to the higher dose was good idea if spotting was your only problem.  I think you needed to be patient before rushing to increase the dose as the higher dose is more likely to cause bleeding and spotting and your GP should have known this!!!!!!.
IF the higher dose isn't suiting you then I would go back to the lower dose - drop down to the lower dose after the next bleed(so finish the current one month cycle)  and take a 1-2 week break from everything before starting the 1/10 again.   2 months on the 1/10 was not long enough for things to settle and if you are still peri meno then some erratic bleeding or spotting would have been quite normal. I always found higher doses of HRT didn't suit me.  If you have been seeing a gynaecologist privately, then you should be able to phone his secretary to ask if the gynae can give advice or you could write a letter.  You should have received a copy of the letter sent to the GP so you know what he/she had advised??? You could always have another consultation sooner rather than later - why is May the earliest time you can see them? Continue on the 2/10 until the end of this cycle.  DG x

You have to allow at least 3-6 months for spotting to settle. I agree with DG go back down to 1/10 and allow to settle. Good luck x
