Thanks Michelemabelle and two hoots, I shall definitely take everything you've said onboard and try to keep an open mind: I fully admit that I have preconceived ideas about cruising. I'll do some research.

Coincidentally we bumped into some old neighbours when out walking today who visited Norway in Feb and I've invited them to supper in a couple of weeks so I'll pick their brains then. I think that we're going to do Washington State this year with a visit to relatives in California but probably do the Norwegian trip in Feb time next year. So I have some time to plan, so I'll come back to you lovely ladies with more questions as they arise if I may?

Evelyn and Salad I may see you both there!!  ;D

Thanks ladies!! x

Thanks so much for all the advice Michellemabelle ( I'm singing it too !) and all the others .  What an amazing site this is, the advice and support for each other is second to none.  I really think for us it will be either a river cruise or the Fijords, thats the only two my husband will consider.  We are fairly sociable but also like our privacy.  I do think though when there are only the two of you on holiday and you have been together all day every day for the past x number of years , its nice to meet up with others . ;)  jI am the outgoing one , my husband is rather reserved , but not antisocial so hopefully we can find a cruise to suit.  I must look at the website you mentioned re reviews too.  Elizabeth rose and Salad will we wear a flower in our lapel so we can recognise each other or just mutter MM  :)

That'll be most of the women on the ship then🤡
Red face= too much sun/ booze/ spending too much time with their snoring partners
Worried persona= all of the above. And then some x

Scanning through the bumph about MS Roald Amundsen it states Crew 151; Guests 500 ........ not 2 Crew members each then  :-\.  That don't seem enough to me particularly if the driver and chef are included in those numbers ........
