Dry Legs at site of HRT & Testosterone application
« on: March 09, 2018, 05:29:22 PM »

I have been using both Sandrena Gel & Testogel cream alternately on my upper thighs & upper arms for about 2 months+ I noticed a few days ago that the tops of my thighs, but not my upper arms are dry with small spots at the actual site I rub gels into. Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe I should think about using another area? and if so where?
Any thoughts advice or links to an answer would be lovely!
Other than this think I am doing ok on my HRT & Testosterone mix...
Thanks

Hi Penny123

According to the product info Sandrena is supposed to be applied to and spread on thighs rather than arms. I have never used oestrogen gel but I do use testosterone gel and I spread it on the inside of my knee at the bottom of my thigh (didn't like the effect of it closer to my nether regions  ::). I have noticed a white dry powdery residue where it has dried and I presume this is just the mixers used with the hormone to help it absorb etc? I haven't noticed spots though (with T)  but I did get hair growth over my thigh including some distance from the application site! Someone mentioned this (spots) with Sandrena the other day - so do have a look at the other posts on this board ( might have to go back a page...). Sandrena contains propylene glycol which estrogel doesn't and there was another ingredient whose name espcaes me, which can cause allergic reactions. Maybe don't rub it in and just spread it?

Please you are otherwise doing OK on your new regime! :)

Thanks for your super fast reply.

I will take note of your suggestions and see how I go. I will swap application to behind knee.

I forgot to mention I had spent the last week in Budapest and went to a couple of the Spas there so am thinking this too might be the cause of my reaction...It doesn't hurt nor is it actually noticeable (only when I rub my hand over the affected area can I feel it) so am hoping it will go away soon

Will hunt out the other post you are talking about, but to be honest there is so much on here that it becomes almost impossible to find answers to certain queries in the little time I have to look!

Have a great weekend!

I have been using my front thighs daily alternatively for oestrogel and t gel and yes my thighs went bumpy.  I then developed sore thighs at the application site after baths (I actually have been tested and have a water allergy when it's on my skin , showers are fine) this then made them more sore each morning I put the hrt on so I have changed to back of thighs in the hope it'll improve the front

Does all that even make sense?!

Oestrogel I put on the inside of my thighs one pump pm one pump am.

I started tostran gel pump , 2 weeks ago and the only place I can put it is my outside of knee as my soft skin does not like it at all , burns so much have to wash it off.

Sandrena gel gave me masses of spots on my thighs , this stopped with oestgel with in two weeks.

Our skins just get sensitive for many of us.
