Oestrogel Dosage
« on: February 15, 2018, 10:04:56 AM »

Hello

After 15 weeks on hrt tablets that didn't help my symptoms much , I saw a specialist who prescribed Oestrogel, Utrogestan and Testogel. I am 53 and 3 years post meno.

I've been applying 3 pumps for 2 weeks and the night sweats have stopped on most nights, but I am still feeling totally exhausted, have no appetite and am not sleeping well.

Would it be ok to increase the gel to 4 pumps?

Hi Dotty

You could try half pump more of oestrogel.  How many days does your testogel last ? Testosterone should eventually give you more energy but that does take time

I struggled with sleep for ages and eventually I tried phenergan tablets.  One every few nights gave me a good nights sleep but now I'm on amitriptyline for nerve pain in my back and that really helps but try phenergan x

Hi Annie

One sachet of Testogel lasts 10 days.

I'm sleeping soundly from 10 pm till 2 pm and then I'm only sleeping on and off and am awake at 5 .

Morning Dotty

Sorry you're still not feeling great.
You can go up to 4 pumps but it might be an idea to have your Oestrogen level checked  to see if you're absorbing the gel ok.

I'm sure people are getting fed up with my Vitamin D Deficiency crusade  ;D  but have you had your Vitamin D level checked?
I now have 10 family/friends diagnosed as deficient, 11 including me- my fatigue, joint/muscle pain, hair shedding and sweats have improved now I'm addressing my deficiency.
I've actually stopped using Testosterone at the moment as Vitamin D also raises Testosterone levels.

Hope you feel better soon  :)

Thanks Salad.

My vitamin d was borderline. GP said it was ok but on the research I've done I know it's not. I have been supplementing with vitamin D but I'm going to look on Amazon for a spray that somebody recommended on here.

I keep asking to have my oestrogen levels checked but GP won't do them.

I think I would read that as deficient  ;D

I was told my level of 29 nmol/l "isn't that deficient" but that's going on the levels the GPs/pharmacists are using at present, which are really outdated and date back to the war.
The more up to date research suggest levels should be above 75nmol/l with 125nmol/l as an optimal level.
Out of interest, I'm currently following a high dose vitamin d protocol for 8 weeks - 10 000 iu D3 gel capsules (from Costco) 400mg Magnesium (Glycinate) and 5 mg Vitamin K2-Mk4 daily. Once I have my blood test Monday, I'll review but will carry on with at least 2000 iu.
A GP taking an interest in me and my 'deficient' friend has done her own research and has said she is now going to prescribe daily high D3 plus co-factor doses and that a report is due to be released which will up date practice.
After feeling so unwell for the last 3 years it's nice to know it might not just be my inability to sort out my HRT  :D

Salad....I would say your level was very deficient.

My level was 74.3nmol.

Thanks Dotty, I think it does explain why I have felt rubbish for so long.

Hope you start to feel better soon too X
