Specialist for mood disorders
« on: February 01, 2018, 09:54:19 AM »

Hi everyone, someone mentioned on here the other day the name of a specialist in anxiety and depression in women with hormone problems. It wasn't John Studd or Nick Panay, but it was definitely a man and it sounded like he was particularly knowledgable about the mood side of menopause. Hoping someone will know who it was, as otherwise I'll have to trail through loads of searches to find him.

Feeling like I'm reaching the end of the line in terms of help of any kind - now that my estrogen level is higher I'm trying testosterone again, and whereas last time it did nothing at all, this time I felt a subtle difference immediately and started getting excited that I might be seeing the first glimmer of hope that my life was returning. Now after a week the depression is setting in again, exactly as it did the first time I tried testosterone. It feels exactly the same as the adverse reaction I get from ADs. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - this was my last hope, what do I do now? All I can think is to email a few specialists and see if anyone has a clue, as Dr. Gray and Dr. Currie don't seem to have encountered this problem before.  :'( :'( :'(

Hi racjen - I think you are looking for Dr Mike Savvas, mentioned by MaryG on this thread:
