Burning issues for three weeks
« on: January 23, 2018, 11:57:15 AM »

Good morning ladies,
I've been suffering from the burning issues,!  >:(
Urine samples coming back clear but a small amount of microscopic blood.
I started using Vagifem ten days ago and it feels slightly better.
I'm on a third course of antibiotics now too.
Doc wants to send me to a urologist for tests in case it's kidney stones.
Which I thought were incredibly incredibly painful, which I don't have .

Also blood was detected 6 years ago in urine had loads of tests then, and I've a duplex kidney on right but all was working well then.
I'm at my wits end 😴 not sure what's for the best!
Has anyone else experienced blood in urine?
Thanks for your advice in advance x

Your GP should be prescribing appropriate advice as ABs are not useful long-term if it is vaginal atrophy.  There are other products to use alongside the Vagifem, i.e. Sylc - if you put the products into the search box they will pop up.

Why does your GP think it's kidney stones ad surely he/she can request the proper scan?  Urine samples often show signs of blood and protein.

If the samples are returning without growth, i.e. clear then ABs are not necessary.  Because the GP won't know which AB to prescribe.  I would be speaking to a Pharmacist at my local Chemist.

Some ladies require nightly use of appropriate VA treatment.  For a long time!

CLKD, forgot to mention I've been referred for a scan, in a couple of weeks.

Go for it.  It will settle your GP's mind if nothing else  ::)

In the meantime, read up the VA threads on here so that you know more than he apparently does ;-)

Hi roseclimber - there is a VERY LONG THREAD in the private lives section started by Dancinggirl called "The Burning Club" which should have lots of helpful information and tips. Also read posts by Maryjane - as she is one of the MM experts on VA and treatments but doesn't post much on here now...
