Hi, I was on low dose 1mg of Elleste Duet and Femeston, neither of which worked for me (both made me feel over-oestrogenised, all puffy) but did completely solve night sweats within about 1 week. I then moved to Everol Sequi patches - these are 50mcg estradiol - transdermal definitely worked better for me, but didn't feel I was getting enough oestrogen (note, the patches are much lower amount than the tablets, due to different method of delivery, more gets through without going via stomach). My private menopause GP recommended to my NHS GP that I mixed two sets of patches, the high dose Everol 100mcg for two weeks with the 50mcg Everol Sequi (which include progesterone) for the second two weeks. This is better, not perfect but the best balance so far. Message from this is, is does take a while to adjust to a new medication, but if its making you feel utterly depressed (Femeston for me - lots of other people find it great) get off it, if its getting there give it some time. If after you've been on it for say 3 months and its still not right it could be time to discuss different route of delivery or different brand / combination. And it had never occurred to me that you might end up mixing the oestrogen only (which are for ladies without uterus) with the combination patches, so not daft at all....
