Holiday Anxiety
« on: January 08, 2018, 05:50:38 AM »

Hi,
I've just booked a holiday, not been abroad for 2yrs. I was very excited when I was looking and booking. Now I feel sick with anxiety about going, I've felt like this with holidays in the past but not this bad. Does anyone else get holiday anxiety? Or is it just me?

Hi Shellb I'm the worlds worst for doing that I've lost so many holidays by doing this.you convince yourself that something dredful is going to happen to you.there is a solution.
Make up a first aid kit that covers everything ie all the aches and pains and fear of things that “may” happen.i take everything from fake tears to butterfly stitches.
Then keep reinforcing that the vit d3 you are going to get from all that good weather is so going to lift your mood and help with the majority of your symptoms your whole body and mind can only benefit from it.
I've recently come back from a “very” foreign holiday lol that last year I cancelled on the day of departure and lost all our money and I felt so guilty afterwards for the rest of the year.My husband just said don't worry we can try again when you feel up to it which crippled me even more with guilt.I made myself rebook as close to departure date as I could so I didn't have too much time to think about it and had my rescue kit ready to take and guess what I survived it lol.another tip is try and do lots of mini getaways closer to home and build your confidence up,my daughter got us a joint pass for us both for English heritage for Xmas present so I could do just that and I'm going to meno specialist in Coventry tomorrow then if time permits I'll go for a nice lunch then use my pass to explore any sights so instead of dreading this trip I'm looking forward to it.Dont give into it it's nit fair on you and can easily become a habit fight it with everything you've got, life's too short have fun xx

Yep.  I'm quite ill this morning.   I was planning a trip to a UK City to see an Exhibition and combining the days there with a Funeral on Friday.  I've had to step back ........ how was I so positive about it all last night and this morning can hardly move due to anxiety  :'( :-\.   One positive: I've not had to take my emergency med., as well as managing to graze.

Could you ask your GP for an emergency med, i.e. Valium-type?   If you get some, do take 1 to see what the reaction might be ;-).  Bugga - the Funeral I attended last week was no problem at all, go figure  ???
