Dizziness and air bubbles in chest
« on: December 12, 2017, 01:34:56 PM »

Hi All, so I tried a high does birth control again and it made me vomit..... so came off that a month and a half ago. All was going relatively well until this where ive had burning in my back and a feeling of air bubbles in my chest....not burps!!  A male gyny who doesnt believe my issues are hormonal advised the ocmbined patch  evra but my gp said women dont really do well on it so he recommended low dose bcp again for 3 months with a view to increase it to higher dose once body has gotten used to it. I've had scary dizziness 2 days before period this month as well. Its awful. Any ideas. Anxiety and low mood still present although I had a great few days before this past few days. Im lost in all this. I dont ubderstand my own body or mind anymore. Its horrible. Advise appreciated. I know maybe I'm not giving things a chance to woek.

I think dizziness before a period suggests low oestrogen.  Is your gynaecologist a specific menopause/HRT specialist?  It could be that you need to seek advice from a menopause specialist who is up to date with all HRT products and specialises in hormones.

I wouldn't see that Gynae again. It's about time that medical professionals began listening to their patients  :bang: :bang: :bang: because we know our bodies the best  :cuss:

Ask for a referral to a Menopause specialist?

Hi Mary and CKLD, thank you for replaying.
The gynacologist I saw was in a clinic under the instruction of a menopause gynecologist-under the public health care system.  Needless to say I have never seen the head gynacologist as in my opinion she is never there although she is being paid to be there. She runs a private practice 5 minutes from the hospital and I believe she is there most of the time. I coudl try and make appointment privately with her but she has a long waiting list for private patients and equally long for public if not longer. I'm to go back to public in March. I had the shakes or tremors last night in bed and again today with this air sensation in chest. Its just so difficult. I now accept these symptoms as hormona but some days I just fe so down by it all. Today I am off work but here I am trawling the internet for answers. I guess I'll keep going with the bcp my doctor suggested for 3 months and see then. Or book a private consultation with her but judging by the way her public clinic is run, it could be a waste of time and money.
