Sarai - I hadn't realised that the recommendation for starting Evorel conti was 18 months without a period - that detail had escaped me! In fact it is often prescribed earlier than this ie in any post-menopausal woman, and sometimes even before menopause as a trial. It is not usual to have an endometrial scan prior to starting HRT but it would have been interesting. Transdermal oestrogen is not associated with increased clot risk as far as I know, but oral HRT may be in older women. Also the low doses (less than 50 mcg) are not licensed for protection against osteoporosis, so you are on the right dose.

Let us know the outcome of your investigations.
