New patches only 1 type of patch
« on: November 17, 2017, 12:33:16 PM »

My daughter was on femseven sequi, but has now been put on femseven 100, only 1 type of patch, should there be 2 types, week 1 and week 2,or are they all in one

From what I have searched, the patches she has been given are for women with no uterus, she should have a progesterone one too,
She is waiting for a call back from the Drs just now, hoping she can get a 2nd prescription, or she will have no patches until after the weekend

How old is your daughter Jaycee and how long since her last period?

Thanks for reply, she is 52, and i know that she should be a year past menopause, according to what i have searched
SHE WAS WAITING FOR A CALL BACK FROM THE dar, he has given her the wrong patches im sure, and only the oestrogen ones, no progesterone her perods are spasmodic i think, but anyway its not a year
Sorry about caps,[ accidental]

Yes she does also need a progesterone unless she has the Mirena coil fitted? Why did the doc change her from FemSeven - do you know?

I am not sure why he changed her onto the new ones, except she couldn't keep the others on, but otherwise not sure,i will ask her tomorrow
I cant believe any Dr wouldn't realise that she needs progesterone as well   when she still has a uterus

It does happen - it happened to me a few years ago. Well done on spotting it.

If the only reason for changing was the fact that they don't stick then it seems odd to up the dose? Evorel patches, although sometimes not too well tolerated due to the type of progesterone, stick much better.

My daughters Dr thought he was changing her onto stronger ones ,but shes back on the original ones now,
I think she had asked for a stronger one, but she has only been on them for 3 months so not long enough really to know if they are working or not
All more expense though, as they are 2 separate patches week 1 and week 2, almost £18 a month
She is going onto Livial in January I think

A prepaid prescription might be helpful for your daughter jaycee:

As far as I know it does, jaycee -  you could always check with the pharmacy just to make sure.

We had a thread on this a while back - five years so it might not still be accurate - https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=20678.0
