Am I right ?
«
on:

Hi my symptoms are hot flushes day and night; terrible nausea; no appetite; feel dreadful; no energy; and many more.
I have been taking hrt for 3 weeks. Am I right in thinking that as the hrt builds up my oestrogen levels then the symptoms will go away?
Thank you x

changes can be scary, even when we want them

They should ease. Do you keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart how you are feeling?

It's strange but when I started hrt (elleste solo) my night sweats disappeared within about 3-4 days. Other symptoms can take longer. Is your dose strong enough ?

Hi Dotty
Yes, it can take a bit of time for your body to welcome and adjust to the HRT. Early days yet. If flushes aren't reduced in the next 4-6 weeks then a higher dose may be necessary. Good to start low and allow this to gradually take effect - it can be a mistake to rush into changing doses or type of HRT too quickly. DG x

Hi yes I do keep a diary.
Annie - my dose has just been upped as I was seeing no effect on a low dose.
DG - my GP has upped my dosage.

Usually, from experience and reading others stories, flushes/night sweats are usually gone or at least eased within the first week, then they can return within weeks and that's usualky when a stronger dose is needed
Can you increase the dose again ? X

Hi Annie
On the 1mg tablet my day flushes stopped after 2 weeks but it didn't do anything for the night ones.
I'm now on 2mg Elleste conti so I think that's the highest dose .

I hope so Annie. And I hope that I might get some energy back and lose the nausea and the groggy feeling. X

Hello Dotty.
Lots of ladies say that their flushes resolve on HRT. Do let us know how you progess on this regime and if it needs tweaking I'm sure they'll be someone here to advise.
Take care.
