As Hurdity has already mentioned the term ‘bio idental' is a tricky one.
Most standard hrts that are prescribed on the nhs in the uk have bioidentical oestrogen but most progesterones are synthetic. However there is one prescribable progesterone called Utrogestan which many women find great, whilst others find very problematic.
If you are referring to ‘compounded' hormones, then this is where the controversy arises. Here in the uk, compounded hormones are not deemed safe as they haven't been through rigorous testing - in other countries they are widely used with varying success.
Do not assume that these bio identical ‘ compounded' hormones are safer or more natural.
It is still better to try the tried and tested HRT route through the NHS or a specialist gynaecologists. DG x
