:thankyou: I think if you're a new member you may have to do so many messages before you can pm (may have got this wrong, someone may clarify if so) x

Bj118 - That's right as peri says - it's 10 ('useful' posts ie not just off-topic chat in this and that!) so you've made it now :)

Peri - is the drug your friend is taking one of those recommended in the papers I linked to such as Venlafaxine? Would be interested to know!

I honestly don't know Hurdity.  My friend has had the same journey as Bj118 and says she feels much better on this drug x

 :thankyou: peri :thankyou: Hurdity.....
Yay, have graduated....now I can do the pm  ;)

Hurdity, I was offered Venlafaxine and I didn't take it. From what I understand, this helps with anxiety, depression and hot flushes and it is one of the options from a list of antidepressants.

Ah I see -  well that's the one that looks like it is recommended for women in your position but you will see from the link that there are others. I would definitely see about getting local oestrogen for the dryness whatever else you decide - and this can be permitted for those who've had breast cancer. I think I or someone else gave the links to the site info on the other page?

Bj118 - why not take an anti-depressant even if you aren't depressed if it is one that NICE recommends to ease flushes etc.?  Why suffer .......

Hello CLKD,

How are you? Hope that you are well.

Not that I don't want to take antidepressants.....am on another, Alprazolam. Had to choose between this or Venlafaxine, so took the later but won't help in resolving the hot flushes ..... it is very effective in helping me handle my anxiety, which could be so high and debilitating  :-\

Is that cutie on your profile your cat?

Hello Ladies,

Just checking on how to work around the forum..... if I wanted to ask or discuss a topic, do I continue on this section or do I create a new discussion?

Sorry, am not good at this .....appreciate some guidance.

Hi Bj118,

This information on vaginal dryness might be of interest to you:

The water-based product is available on prescription.

I hope this information will help!  :)

I would start it as a new topic Bj118. Go into forum and chose the heading which applies and create a new post x
