This will be my first time using oestrogel abroad in 3 weeks and I plan to do my gels as usual early in morning, then hour or 2 later put my sun protection on

I just put the Oestrogel on early and then at least an hour later popped my sun cream on, had no problems at all.

I used Sandrena gel whilst on holiday (usually have patch). I put it on first thing, had breakfast etc and then put sun lotion on at least an hour later. One thing I did notice though is that I got a lot of pigmentation on my face despite using high SPF on my face. Assuming this is due to the oestrogen.
