Wheeched- to remove quickly
Moroculous- very inebriated indeed.
Boak- gagging, to be sick...

Many Scottish words are onomatopoetic

http://www.dsl.ac.uk/ is brilliant for Scottish words, I look it up when I'm not sure if a word I know is an Ayrshire word, or a 'made up by my dad' word. Never know how to spell them though.

handy for Outlander if nothing else

shoogly is one I didn't realise was Scottish til recently

Aye. We've all got our regional variations. I've used many words with my English colleagues to their complete bafflement. They think I'm a complete numpty

Oh I've been in that shop loads of times. Such lovely outfits.

A mountain goat ....now do they have them in Yorkshire  ;)  ;D

I now have a mental picture of you Yorkshire Girl bounding up mountains leaping from rock to rock.

Actually that's not a bad mental picture, I was leaping  at times ;D ;D
I've yet to see a mountain goat here!!

Oh dear now I'm singing "High on the hill" from Sound of Music. Sorry Yorkshire Girl.  ::)  ;)

Sad to say our days of long walks over hills are well & truly over. Hubby has arthritic knees & my hips give me jip if I walk too much.

Didn't like wearing a Fascinator, don't suit hats. My DIL's mother guided me as to headgear. She didn't want anything on her head either, but felt as MOB something was needed, so we both wore Fascinators, both of us took them off once dancing started. In fact she passed me & said quietly, 'Time to get rid of this!" Hers was trickier to remove as she'd had her hair put up, I just wheeched mine off.  :)
That made me giggle cubagirl
Aahh that's sad & not at all pleasant. My dad has arthritic knees, he struggles with walking, no fun  :(

A while ago, our daughter, who grew up in Scotland but now lives in Bristol, went into a local shop and asked for bread rolls.  They didn't have a clue what she meant.    :-\

I remember going into a shop in England when I was about 10 and asking for a bottle of ginger...
It took about 5 minutes for the lady to realise I meant fizzy pop x
