For a while now, I've had what I can only describe as a dull (non painful) ache in lower abdomen/pelvic area. I haven't had any urinary/cystitis symptoms. Bladder and bowels working okay. No lower back ache or anything else at all. It's very isolated to middle of area between hips, just above pelvic bone.
I've mentioned it to my GP a few times but no offer of examination or anything.
Because I've been up and down with my energy levels/moods over the past 6 months, only today I wondered if it could be my ovaries. Had the rest removed 9 years ago.
I've also had quite a bit of male type hair growth on chin for a few years which is really annoying but after having exhausted laser removal etc, I'd just put it down to having too much unopposed oestrogen in my body. HRT patches for 9 years.
I've spoken to my surgery about referring me to the Menopause Clinic at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford (thank you for the nod on this, Menopause Matters) and having just contacted the surgery, the office tell me that my GP is arranging that for me.
I remember reading somewhere that course chin hair can be a symptom of PCOS and wondered if that was linked to this ache I'm having there too.
Ha, I know we're not GP's on this site.... apart from our lovely specialist of course, but I do at times feel that there is more information on here, than I've gleaned from both my own research, and that from my GP.
I'd be super grateful if anyone has any idea what this might be whilst I wait for my appointment. And... I'm not the type to get freaked out with worry about things. But, I do like to be proactive because I think it's better to be like that.
