New and testogel
« on: July 11, 2017, 11:32:54 AM »

wonder if some kind soul can help me here; I'm new to HRT and have been prescribed 5g of testogel over 8 days, so I'm wondering about the following:
can I re-use the sachet or do i have to open a new sachet every day (assume I can re-use)
how do I store the opened sachet for the 8 days
and finally, it would be great to hear from anyone who's had a good experience on testogel

Thanks in advance   :)

Hi Esther13

 :welcomemm: from me too.

I'm a Testogel user - for just over 2 years (I think)!

Yes re-use the sachet. When you cut it open you will see it only actually opens over half the end if you only cut a small bit off the top - half of it stays sealed (where the dotted lines are - cut here). When you've squeezed out your blob then fold it over and fasten with a paper-clip sideways and then it's ready to use next day.  I use less than you - my tube lasts 10-14 days.

However I don't know your circumstances? Perhaps you can tell us a bit more about yourself, where you are in menopause ie what your cycle length has been recently, flow, symptoms age etc? What your other HRT is?

I make sure it's the last thing I apply in the mornings to make sure of no contamination ( ie after face cream, body cream etc). When done I just chuck it into a make-up bag in the bathroom with some make-up I barely use until the next day. When I go away a little sachet goes into my pouch thingy where I keep HRT patches etc, that goes in my handbag - so I always have some.

Do have a read of my thread "Testosterone Here We Go" in private lives section (link below). I think it goes off on a meander in the middle talking about oestrogen but gets back on track - hopefully you will find some of the experiences useful? Watch out for hair growth and where you apply it.....have a read:

Yes I wouldn't be without it  ::)

Hope this helps and hope it works - do post (maybe in private lives if there is anything you don't want the world to see!)

 ;D phew, good to know it's doing some good. I'm 46, still having a period but now terrible breast swelling and tenderness lasting half the month, zero libido, little energy and flushes for the last year.

I went to Dr Studd's office primarliy to moan about the breast tenderness and tiredness (also, I do feel somehow like a shell of my former self but didn't bother sharing that with a medic..) and he has put me on Estrogen gel, progesterone tablets and the testogel as i've got no testosterone apparently. I'm yet to start the progesterone but have been using the Estradiol for about 3 weeks. No hot flushes which is good but my boobs have flared up this week and I'll have to wait longer than usual for PMS to subside as I can't start the prog. until 1st August.

It is so kind of you to give me your tips and encouragement Hurdity; I went to the docs with PMS and have come out with an entire bathroom cabinet of strong potions...but if I can get some energy and chutzpah back and sort these boobs out it will be worth it I reckon! :-*
