I've been taking Prozac for the last 13 years,I take it as a treatment for Fibromyalgia,I never realised it could help with hot flushes, I do overheat but when my GP asked me if I'd had any hot flushes I didn't really know if what I had been experiencing was a hot flush so maybe they are but are being subdued by the Prozac

Hi Hurdity, Thank you for this. I'm 60. I had my tubes out at 53 (2010) but had not yet reached menopause. It started 3 weeks later! I put up with the flushes for a year and then went onto HRT. Eventually coming of HRT Dec 2016. So that's 5 years. I don't know the family history of breast cancer risk, and there's no-one I can ask. Thanks for encouraging me not to take the Fluoxetine if I'm not depressed. It does feel like the wrong thing to do.
