Brown discharge
« on: May 04, 2017, 08:19:18 AM »

Hi Ladies, I was previously on fem seven 1mg/5 and were changed over to indivina 2mg/5 as the fem seven wasn't making any changes to the hot sweats on a night etc. I have now been on this for 2.5 months and started with brown discharge is this what is called spotting? I'm now on my 5th day, I had one day where it was red and now it's back to brown how long does this happen for? The hot flushes are still there however not as intense so my sleep is improving :) thank you

Spotting can take up to 6 months to settle when you are taking continuous combined HRT - so usually the advice is not to worry during this time. However if the bleeding becomes very heavy and you become worried then do check with your GP. Once the 6 months has elapsed then the advice is to visit GP to see if there is any reason for ongoing bleeding and/or to try a different HRT type if necessary.
