use of utrogestan on alternate days?
« on: April 20, 2017, 12:20:42 PM »

Hi, I don't think I dreamed this but who knows as I have so much fog at the moment. I though I read that someone was using utrogestan (100mg) on alternate days or 3 times a week and this is normal practice in France/elsewhere in Europe? (sorry I have trawled on here for the past two hours and can't find the thread/posts about it)

I am 57 and post meno - just switched to oestrogel (x 2pumps a day) and utrogestan 100mg oral daily-continuous. 15 days into the Utro -felt awful flu-like symptoms, aching bones, headaches, stomach bloating, really foggy head and strangely restlessness at night??. (have not had a problem with progesterone before) I then took the decision to cut the utro down (alternate days) and use it vaginally and I feel a bit better but I do realise I will have to go back to the specialist and ask about scans even if I pay for them myself.
Any comments/advice or can someone direct me to the thread on here which hopefully I didn't make up?

The thread didn't last long but I'm interested in the every other day with Provera. There is also a thread by a lady who's had success with just 7 days of utrogestan which may interest you :)

Thanks! I am interested, do people get withdrawals with 7 day only? (I don't mean withdrawal bleed as don't mind that). Also I might worry about insomnia as I seemed to get oestrogen highs a few times. Although the gel seems better for me. t am also interested to hear about Provera as I know noting about it?
