Symptoms back after 12 months
« on: April 18, 2017, 02:46:57 AM »

All my emotional symptoms and insomnia have come back with full force and I'm terrified.
Have been on femoston 2/10 for just over 12 months.
This coincides with having stopped smoking 9 weeks ago; could there be a link?
I can't sleep, anxiety is through the roof, night sweats are back, am crying a lot and I'm generally being a bitch.

I read today smoking affects absorption so wonder if my dose is now too high. Trying to get in to see the GP.

GP doesn't think I have any different HRT options so suggested I self refer to talking therapy for the depression and anxiety in the first instance. Unsure of wait times so may go back and ask for antidepressants if it's going to take forever

I really don't know what to do. Still waiting on the therapy. My moods are still awful. I've unilateral oedema in my left leg with no apparent cause and generally feel like I'm falling apart.
I want to run off and live by myself in a nice little cottage somewhere.

The oedema has been scanned etc. No DVT and nothing on the abdominal scan.
I think to get anywhere I may have to go private.

Ps: The talking therapy stuff is basically CBT so doesn't have to be event related. It does however have to be available.

Sorry you feel rough but as Stellajane says - congratulations on stopping the smoking  :congrats:

Has your GP done bloods to check your Oestrogen level? That would help you gauge whether you're too high or low.

No she didn't do anything and I don't have the energy the fight my corner at the minute.

Maybe make a list of the symptoms you would like to ease and have a chat with a Practice Nurse.

Lack of VitD as well as thyroid function tests can be requested too.

If you really are 'under the weather' with anxiety then ask for a short course of treatment.  Then you will see the wood for the trees.
