RIP Tim. I actually met this lovely man on several occasions as he lived close to my mother for many years - he and his wife, Pam, were very kind and hospitable to her. Such a wonderful actor and still relatively young - a very sad loss to the acting profession. DG. Xxx

Do you mean Tim Piggott-Smith? I hadn't heard of his demise.  He was a good actor, I think he was early 70s unless I am mistaken.

We went to see him in a play in London, whilst on holiday, a few years back.  He was excellent & such a twinkle in his eyes!

He died suddenly in Northampton on Thursday morning ..... due to open in a play on Monday, his wife withdrew with apparently an injury to a foot ...... wonder if he was already ill

I get this when sending a text message.  If I don't proof read before sending I send off some silly messages, and get silly ones back sometimes
