Hi Daisy,
Great to connect.
My husband has been understanding and I think it's quite shocked him that his even tempered wife is now snappy, tearful and wants to bury her head under the duvet.
Not forgetting that while all of this is new to me, it's also new to him.
I'm still learning all about HRT. I was sterilised at 29, so have not used the pill for 20 years. I got used to heavy & painful periods and managed to negotiate my way through the pain with dog walking. Largely difficult while sitting in my office, but I work in a large building and our kitchen is a fair walk from our office so movement during the day was easy.
Looking back, and I'm guessing I'm post-menopausal now as no periods since July 15, I've been happy to put up with night sweats as a swap for the heavy periods. I did have a scan in 2015 as I'd had large clots over a matter of months and was told I had a *bulky* uterus. (Charming) I know I have two fibroids also. But understand they shrink as we age and there was no need for any treatment of them.
I guess, reading some experiences, I've got off quite lightly. I took myself to bed this afternoon after a dog walk, as I feel utterly wiped out. Bed in the afternoon is a foreign concept to me.
I'm hoping, Daisy, I don't have to change my prescription, it's still early days. My husband suggested coming off them (although I think that was more for him than a sensible piece of advice) but I'll keep going and monitor things so I've got a good handle on things for my follow up GP appointment in April.
It's a lovely place-I've enjoyed reading the forums.
