Hi dap5645
Sorry to hear this but Citalopram for physical symptoms
. I've heard it all now - docs just trying to "there there" women with ADs to sort out any and all problems!
Whether or not the stresses you mention (and I am very sorry to hear about your father
) are having an effect on your stomach, ADs are not the way to go I would have thought!
It could well be the tablet HRT affecting you anyway -and if this is the case then transdermal is preferred. This is what it says on this site:
http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/route.phpIndications for non-tablet route.
Individual preference.
Poor symptom control with tablet HRT.
Side effects such as nausea with tablet.
Bowel disorder which may affect absorption of tablet therapy.
History of migraine (when steadier hormone levels which may be achieved with a patch may be beneficial).
Lactose sensitivity (all tablet preparations of HRT contain lactose).
History of gallstones.
Current use of medications such as anti-epileptic medication which may interfere with the break-down of tablet HRT.
Variable blood pressure.
High triglyceride levels.
Risk factors including Body Mass Index greater than 30, family history or past history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolus, after full discussion and specialist advice when necessary.I would ask for a transdermal HRT such as Evorel or Femseven ( preferably the latter) and then at least if your digestive issues persist you will know it has nothing to do with the HRT. Personally I would go for a cyclical one (whcih gives a withdrawal bleed) so that you can settle on a particular type before going for continuous combined HRT.
I agree with Stellajane!
