Hi Weejeanie
Are you on HRT or any form of vaginal oestrogen?
Especially if you are not, then any unscheduled bleeding or spotting should be reported to the doctor to be checked out just to be on the safe side.
If you are taking HRT then some spotting can be expected sometimes but not usually once it has settled.
If you are not using vaginal oestrogen then it could well be that your vaginal tissues have thinned to the extent that they are so fragile that the slightest trauma is causing the damage and bleed.
I would suggest you go to the doctor anyway and get appropriate treatment. Here is the information on this website about vaginal problems and treatments:

http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/article-vaginal-atrophy.phpVaginal atrophy can present itself several years after menopause when oestrogen levels drop to their lowest and will not get better on its own and moisturisers will no longer work on their own - local oestrogen will need to be taken for life.
Some of us take HRT as well as using local oestrogen just to keep things comfortable down there - and some women need to use moisturisers in between times too.
Do ask anything else and please go to your doctor!
Let us know how you get on
