On HRT and peri
« on: January 05, 2017, 01:10:21 PM »

If I'm taking an HRT that causes a bleed, will I ever know if I'm in menopause?

In a word - no! Do you need to know? You might be able to have a rough idea depending on where you were in menopause before starting HRT and how old you are - but there is a huge variation in the length of peri-menopause amongst women! The only way you could tell for sure is to stop HRT and if you did not bleed for a year - then you are post-menopause - but most women only stop HRT when they want/need to stop, not to find this out. If your symptoms are well controlled and you are otherwise well - then best thing is to carry on with it....
