I hope you are all coping with the Christmas frenzy? I have hit a really bad patch and would welcome any thoughts about whether this is just really destabilised hormones after 2 months trying Zoely or not?
I've posted at length in past re my problems with chronic migraine (as well as Lyme) and having been prescribed Evorel by a specialist to try to help with this. I am 47 but not yet in obvious peri. I didn't have progesterone initially as still having regular periods even on evorel - this worked initially but then my cycle seemed to override it. So I was given Zoely but I had to give up after 2 months due to apparent side effects of bad neck/upper back pain and at base of my skull for 6 weeks. Also hot flashes and rising BP (am already borderline). When I stopped I went back to a 50 evorel and had also recently started a ketogenic diet which helps some with chronic migraine. The side effects went within a week and I had 3 much better weeks when I also got hopeful that the diet was helping. I was surprised not to have a migraine attack when I stopped the pill to be honest.
My first proper period arrived on time 26 days later but was heavier than usual. On day 3 as period was finishing I developed a bad migraine - this is often the worst day for me so not unusual. However 7 days later it is still ongoing and generally feel crap. I am waiting to see what happens post ovulation. I am wondering if I have too much estrogen now in first half cycle or if it's normal to have this if you are hypersensitive to hormone fluctuations after stopping pill? But if so why was I ok when I stopped it initially?
If not, then the worsening of symptoms has to be diet related but I am sceptical about that because all this kicked off on day 3 as usual.
