Anyone watching Emmerdale? Last night's was heartbreaking and beautifully done...blubbed my eyes out.
Great job though to raise awareness of this awful disease.

Yes I've been watching it. I feel they have captured it very well. My mum had dementia and suffered the same sort of disorientation and aggressiveness. She would switch from knowing who I was to demanding that I fetch "my daughter" to rescue her within seconds.

It's really important that awareness is raised.

Don't usually watch Emmerdale but watched last night. Very moving.
Very good acting. I can see an award coming.

(Also I think Phil Mitchell - Eastenders- should be up there too)

Yes I think the actor and writers will probably win awards...I actually found I understood it much better after watching than I did at the dementia training I did for work...

Taz2, must have been heartbreaking for you to see your mum like that, must have been difficult to watch last night x

I'm an Emmerdale viewer and I found yesterday's very sad bit very  educating.  I can now understand how scary it is for the sufferer and goes to show how adapting to their world helps them x
