Mimicking natural.cycle
« on: November 25, 2016, 09:32:32 AM »

I have been on 4 pumps oestrogel amd utrogesteron vaginally 300mg for 7 dsys every other month but I am getting my natural period every month without the utrogesteron.  I .getting the terrible cramps and pmt that I always got and my stomach is the size of of a beach ball.  Last month I just took the progesterone when I knew my period was coming anyway even though  it wasnt the mo th to and so I have reduced to three/ two pumps this month.  I better to reduce the oestrogen in the second half of cycle or first half or just completely.  Obviously the four pumps still isnt suppressing my cycle which was the intention. Or should  i just go on the pill. Hrt has done nothing for joint pain or moods at all. peri sucks. TWo yrs of this already straight from pregnancy to this!!

Oh dear Tinkerbellj

Sorry to hear about this. I think you need to discuss with your doctor and ideally a specialist gynae - I presume this advice was from a menopause specialist. I can't remember where you are in menopause but it sounds like the pill might be an option to properly suppress your cycle. Remember that there are two types with estradiol which are like HRT (Qlaira and Zoely) and Qlaira only has 2 tablet free days so you are taking oestrogen most of the time, although the dose varies between 1 mg and 3 mg.
