Hi charolotte,

Can you tell me how long you went in between blood tests for testosterone and what level you started with and are now.
Interested as I started mine two weeks ago using a pea size amount twice a week, but haven't had any change yet.
Thanks mojo

Hi there,
This test  was three months after starting, it was very very low and is now 19 - alarm bell time for a woman.  ;)

Thanks charolotte, how many times a week were you using it, my level was 0.1, and I am due to have the next blood test after Christmas, because I only put it on twice a week it doesn't seem a lot but if increases are that quick I guess I must be careful.

Thanks

Oo-er That's scary Charlotte...   How much have you been using? Glad you are feeling better with the oestrogen though :)

I do think using T is quite worrying (I say that as a user!) -  because it has been developed for men and we need a weaker product for women where we can get a more consistent dose rather than just squeezing out a blob. There is such a need for more research too and especially on long term effects - eg cardiovascular system, cholesterol etc.

I have read that some of the effects of T ( and was told by gynae who prescribed it) do not become apparent for 4-5 months and some changes from prolonged high levels can be irreversible....

I presume you are not taking the T for osteoporosis - although I have just read that there have been studies showing T and oestrogen have an enhanced effect on bone health (just scanned an article briefly)?

I have never had my levels measured but I imagine my pea-sized blob will not lead to an overdose as the sachet lasts at least a fortnight...

Hi Annie and Hurdity,
I have just been using a petit pois size of T every day and my sachet lasted for 8 days so I am now  eeking that out to 15 days now.
I haven't noticed anything, no extra energy, libido, strength at the gym. Yes, I too read about the irreversible side effects, so I am glad that this has been flagged up.

Wow, Charlotte, and I'd thought mine seemed high after my second blood test!

When I had my first blood test my testosterone level was also 0.1 and then when I had it re-tested 3 months later, after using Testim regularly, one tube every 8 days, my testosterone level was 4.4 and appeared on my results in red.

So, we used the same amount daily over the same period of time but your levels rose to about 4 x my levels. Strange, especially as you haven't noticed any effects. I at least did have increased energy and a libido again, however I also began to lose more hair and my skin was quite greasy. Like you, I'm now making a tube last me twice as long, i.e. about 16 days.

These levels are quite alarming, especially for Charlotte who didn't notice any side effects

My pre T level was 0.9 but NHS GP said they're not reliable

I've been on a little blob since mid oct so wonder what mine have gone to ? I don't think I have increased energy and certainly no increase in libido

Jeez I wonder what mine are now as I'm on tostran and it's 2%. I have increased energy and libido but was not much wrong with libido to begin with I was just to exhausted and every achy joint and pain are all gone. I have clinic on the 7th so probably get tested then as she said they will test me for liver function as long as I'm on it...was anyone else told this?? I have no liver problems so just wondering xx

On a purely selfish note I'm just jealous of those of you who've had it prescribed. I'm going to give the Tibolone a bit longer though.

I think I'm old enough to make an informed decision to try T,   especially as it appears to work for some women.

Hey Keepgoing

I wasn't told anything, got the news I was allowed it by telephone, no follow up, no tests, it's still not even on repeats, I have to manually request the next 2 tubes each time.  Actually it was one tube a script but I asked if they could increase the qty to save me going back and forth and cost and they put 2 on a script !

I'm getting soooo confused by each members journey here..... have you had any positives from Tibolone ? And how long have you been on it now ?

Sometimes, what we yearn for isn't the be all and end all .  I think my only real positive is a small improvement in my sense of wellbeing, and some energy boosts BUT I'm having deep sleep naps some evenings which I never did before

Ok. Day 14.

Energy my levels are 100% improved. I used to feel sluggish in the evenings - not anymore. I also use to drag myself out of bed in the morning; I'm talking 15 minutes to get out of bed.  Now I throw back the duvet and get out.

Alcohol. This appears to be the trade off. White wine is a no-no. I had a couple of glasses with food in the week and within half an hour, the room was spinning.

I'm not a big fan of red wine and had some yesterday without any issues but I can live without it.

Overall I feel so much better,  my moods are also more stable. The sweats and the chills have definitely gone.  Having to reduce my alcohol intake is a plus as far as I'm concerned. It'll help keep me trim.

Annie here's my earlier post  about the benefits of taking Tibolone. I'm 2.5weeks in. I was refused T but given Tibolone instead. I wanted T for my libido.

Testosterone so far has done zilch, nada, nothing for my libido so as you can see it may not be your answer, we all respond differently, but I wholeheartedly agree with you that it's unfair we're not all allowed to try these things when they're available

I spoke with OH this evening about my libido.  He said I should stay on T as he's noticed my well being has improved and that pleases him, I said about the libido and he said we can work round that, try the soft porn etc but for me not to get so hung up about it.  I can't believe this man still wants to marry me when our sex life is down the pan
