Missed patch
«
on:
October 17, 2016, 04:53:07 AM »
Hi,
I usually change my oestrogen patch on a Friday morning, however I forgot and didn't change it until Sunday evening.
Is this enough send me out of sorts, e.g. Hot sweats, anxiety, low mood?
Thanks

I was on Estradot 50 and even applying patch 12 hours late would give me some of my symptoms back.

From my experience I would say a definite yes. By the time you put the new patch on, your levels were probably significantly lower than they should have been but don't worry, the symptoms will soon disappear once the new patch kicks in.

Over the last couple of months I've been applying a new patch every fourth day instead of every 3.5 days, so effectively 12 hours late each time, and I haven't had any problems.
I need to decide if I now want to try changing every 4.5 days, or whether to start cutting tiny bits off to see if I can reduce my dose

Personally, my levels don't drop that fast on a patch, the hormones seem to be stored in my body much longer than with pills. When changing my dose it takes at least 24 hours to start noticing something is happening.
I have alerts on my phone set to every 3 days, that works much better than having set days every week.

Yes I have alerts set too, but for every four days. Works better than relying on my meno brain. 😁
