I despair with doctors and prescribing
« on: September 27, 2016, 11:51:57 AM »

I am on Estrogel, Vagifem and Ovestin all agreed by meno specialist.
Until recently had a good female GP who had no problems with signing my repeats...unfortunately she has left surgery.

Last week noticed my Ovestin had been removed from repeats so emailed surgery to have it reinstated.

Now I have found out that another doctor has said I don't need Estrogel and Ovestin as they do the same job and so he has removed my Estrogel. One is systemic and the other is topical...so they are not the same :bang:
So I have now had to make another appointment to sort it out >:(

It's so annoying when they don't get their facts right!  :hotflash:

How appalling Tinkerbell - and how very dare they change your prescription without discussing with you or asking you to attend the surgery for a review, and going against what the meno clinic has prescribed!

I agree Stellajane - very very scary! I mean this is an area we all on here know something about but every day patients are prescribed all sorts of things - and we can't be experts in everything!

At this stage, I think we should all start writing official complaints and tell people we know in the same situation to do the same and things might start changing.

1st sending a complaint letter to the surgery manager and if that doesn't work go further up even to our MPs
