Hello everyone
« on: August 30, 2016, 03:41:51 PM »

Hi there I am a newbie  :) I am 49 and think I have been going through the perimenopause for around 8 years. Wish I had found this site a long time ago! I am having 8-10 weeks between periods now so am assuming the menopause is kicking off.

I am a breast cancer survivor and suffer from hypothyroidism. I've had a few other problems along the way, but nothing too serious!

Not sure what else to post....I am a medical lawyer and have 2 step kids and a lovely husband  :) No kids of my own but love children. I think they call that a baby-starved wingnut  ;D

Hi and welcome to MM Iris67
Do tell us how you are coping with any meno symptoms you are getting. I assume HRT is out of the question for you, so have you found any lifestyle strategies that help? Keep posting  DG x

Hi Iris67

:welcomemm: from me too. Hope you enjoy your time on the forum :)

There are prescribable alternatives to HRT for women such as yourself who are unable to take HRT due to breast cancer, and of course local oestrogen (for vaginal and bladder symptoms) is fine and may become necessary as you get further into menopause.

Do ask if there is anything we can help you with!
