Has anyone seen any shooting stars this year yet?

They fascinate me. As a child my Dad use to take me out the back garden of our council house & point out all the constellations. I will try & get out there tomorrow night - trouble is I get a stiff neck.

What time did you all have to stay up til ?

We saw some good ones here in the South of the UK from around 11 onwards dazned so you didn't have to stay up late.

I waited until the rugby 7s gold medal match finished on Thursday night  before having a quick look before heading to bed. I was only outside about 15 minutes and saw 2, it was cloudy here last night so couldn't see any

What is the best direction to look?
I've just had a look northwards which is what it was last year but nought happening.
