I work in the health services as a qualified Doctor (although I'm not a medical practitioner).
Being a natural pedant, just to tell you all that the title "Mr" is given to a male Consultant in whatever specific specialist medical area they practice in. They don't have to be a surgeon etc.,
All medical Consultants are first qualified as medical Dr's and therefore can use that title before they are subsequently qualified as Consultants in their specialist field.
It's just one of the strange anomalies of medical titles!  Freckles x

My endocrinologist is top of his field and is a Professor.  How much higher is that from a Mr?

Just had to look up the definition of 'pedant' freckles.  I have learned something new and a new word today.  It describes me perfectly and no, I will not apologise for being one as it is who I am and I am learning that I do not need to change.  You sound happy in your own skin   :)
