Hi Sue. I have been prescribed Pregabalin about 5 mths ago for my fibro pain. I'm currently tapering off this again as I kept gaining weight despite eating healthy and exercising. I know others who had the same problem with Pregabalin, too. It didn't touch my pain or ease the burning / stabbing sensations neither. It may be different for you, but just wanted to share my experience with Pregabalin. Fibromyalgia and the menopause suck every bit of energy, literally :-(

Hi Sue, I was given pregabalin (a.k.a.Lyrical) for nerve pain in my hands & arms.
It didn't do much good for my pain, & I didn't feel as if I was in control of things so after a few weeks of being on it I stopped. I now  control my pain with paracetamol/ibuprofen which is not ideal but at least I have some control.

P.S. Before having the pregabalin I tried Gabapentin which had much the same side effects.

If you get no joy ask for Nortripyline, it's good for nerve pain, and I've not had bad side effects .
