Hi, in my experience the progesterone I was using continuously in a trial on BCP made my bladder a lot worse (bladder frequency is my worse peri symptom...so I truly understand how you feel). I would suggest you would be better using the least amount needed - unfortunately that does mean going back to monthly/bi monthly bleeds).
Sorry not to be more helpful xx

Hi Sally, it is helpful, as it's interesting to hear how other progesterone affected others. What is BCP?  Will see if it improves, but as you say it may need to be reduced if it continues for much longer...xx

Yes BCP is Birth Control Pill. Because I am still fairly young it was suggested I tried this as an alternative to HRT (works well for many going through peri early). My bladder was definitely worse while using this (frequency and burning), once I stopped my bladder did improve somewhat. I know for sure my bladder dislikes the progesterone element, my menopausal specialist has said she has other patients that find progesterone increases bladder problems. I have just started using Estring and feel very hopeful this will work (I couldn't use vagifem or ovestin as the fillers caused irritation). Definitely worth trying less progesterone if only to see if things improve. xx

I would imagine it's the progesterone part of the HRT , I only take it for 7 days and my bladder has had enough by then. Also OoO and some of those supplements you are on irritate my bladder also , I also have an embedded infection and you no who I am 😊

As long as I keep my patch dose up to 50 (tried 35 for a while) with 100mg progesterone every night I am mostly fine without the vagifem.

Vagifem by itself wasn't enough for my bladder and vagifem with the patch causes irritation too.  I found that it feels the same.

Why not try skipping a vagifem for a week and see if it gets better? Easy to start back up and you won't revert back to full blown VA in that short time.

Just a thought....
